You've arrived at my online studio.
We'll use precepts, principles, and practices of yoga to help you find ways to move with comfort and ease. We'll use movement, meditation, or massage to reduce or eliminate pain, help your nervous system settle, and strengthen your body.
We'll break the practices down into tiny components to improve interoception (your internal sensations), proprioception (where your body is in space), and neuroception (how safe you feel in any given circumstance).
By breaking practices down into component parts, we begin to feel how we’ve been compensating, which causes us to find our range without compensation, which causes us to ask why we were compensating in the first place, which opens up all kinds of internal conversation about and among body, brain, breath, heart, and connection.
Moving in the comfortable and easy range is a spiritual value based in the great sage Patanjali's guidance "Comfortable and easy is Asana." By doing so we are treating ourselves with compassion and care, as we would a sick or injured child, not so much to make the illness or injury go away, but just because we’re not quite well in this moment. (Thanks to Kristin Neff and Chris Gormer for that .)
